Treatment for Allergic Bronchitis

Respiratory illnesses affect millions of people. Acute Bronchitis is a short term illness that is easily treatable. Chronic bronchitis is harder to treat and can damage the respiratory tract.

Allergic bronchitis is considered to be an asthmatic type of respiratory illness, where the bronchi and lower airways of the respiratory system get inflamed by allergens and irritants. Allergic bronchitis displays both asthma symptoms and allergies, which may cause hay fever and allergic rhinitis.

Allergic asthma, often also called allergic bronchitis, is triggered when an overly active immune system targets harmless substances as dangerous and sends out antibodies to attack them when they start to enter the body.

Allergic bronchitis is primarily caused by exposure to allergens, which is different from non-allergic forms of bronchitis caused by viruses or bacteria.

Symptoms of allergic bronchitis can include a runny nose, shortness of breath, headachea, red, swollen eyes, hyperventilation, tickling in throat, rashes, constant sneezing, tight chest, , coughing, nausea and other allergy symptoms.

Sometimes, a person becomes so sensitive to allergens that airways get blocked by severe swelling of the tissue in the airways, qand can cause hospitalization or death. When this happens, the patient needs immediate medical assistance. Usually, allergic bronchitis is just a mild to moderate condition that doesn't get that serious.

It's important to understand this particular condition. Treatments for mild to moderate kinds of allergic bronchitis include anti-histamine medications and simply trying to avoid allergens that trigger the allergy. You may have to be more careful in the spring and summer, because that's when allergens are most prevalent. Cats and dogs usually have allergens caught in their fur, so it's a good idea to give your pets a batj often to avoid allergens.

It's also important to consult your doctor in this instance. Your doctor can give you skin tests by inserting allergens under the skin to identify which allergens can cause allergic bronchitis for you. Your doctor can also recommend an allergist specializing in this condition and can advise you how to prevent allergic bronchitis.

Allergic bronchitis is manageable, but it can be dangerous at times. You should understand how to deal with exposure to unexpected allergen, and if you have sensitivity, you should bring medications with you everywhere in case of emergency.

Staying informed is necessary to deal with an illness like allergic bronchitis. If you want to learn more about allergic bronchitis, talk to your allergist or physician.
